Friends of PukemokemokeNewsletter # 6 – September 2010
Dear 'Friends',
A lot has happened since I wrote the last Newsletter.
The privet along the river bank has been dealt a fatal blow by the T-Rex vegetation control mulcher. Withthe help of the Conservation Volunteers parts of the track system have been inproved. Most of the planting for this year has been completed...but we need to continue to keep the edges of the weed-eradicated areas enriched with native plants. The Halo project to eradicate predators has been completed for this year, thanks to Environment Waikato. And, our polo shirts with the Bush Reserve logo will be ready soon. If you haven't placed an order, send me an email asap.
Some dates to come:
Regular working bees, Sat 1-4pm on Sept 12, Oct 9, Nov 13 and Dec 11
Launch of the Pukemokemoke Teachers Resource at the Log Hauler site and Tauhei marae, on Thursday October 28th.
Regards and thanks for all the help and time you continue to offer,
